The Art of Accompanying

The Art of Accompanying

For yet another year we have brought dance to the people. This is our vision; to accompany the audience even further in enjoying this art form that makes us move, and give them all the more reason to choose to see dance in the future. We work closely with each client to detect what their audience needs, according to their programme and the information they have available to them.

The balance of 2014 comes to 8,780 spectators. Looking back, we have collected intense and enriching experiences: we returned to China and to Sadler’s Wells in London, we spent another season at Mercat de les Flors and in Barcelona’s Libraries; we made a new appearance at the Mataró Library, we were made very welcome by the large and enthusiastic audience at the Extended University for OAPs Classrooms in Barcelona, Sabadell, Castellar del Vallés, and Osona; we tread on bold theatres such as l’Estruch de Sabadell, Teatre de Granollers and the Teatre d’ Olot; we launched collaborations with the Centre Cultural de la Caixa Terrassa and the Teatro la Abadia in Madrid; and imagined the future thanks to Animal a l’ Esquena a Celrà and the Centre National de la Danse in Paris where we were residents (the latter as part of Carte Blanche – Modul Dance – Mercat de les Flors @ CND).

Hidden behind all the places we’ve been, are new experiences but above all, people and teams who have made it all possible. Our thanks goes to all of you for accompanying us in this art of accompaniment: To all the team at Mercat de les Flors, and all the Chinese tour team, to Liquid Maps, to Escena Internacional Barcelona, to the people at Animal a l’Esquena, and above all our closest collaborators: Gerard Ramon, Montse Otzet, Victoria Macarte, Marc Artigau, Xavier Vigas, Marta Serrahima, Victor Molina, Bàrbara Raubert, and Pau Ros. And to the dance professionals Montse Colomé and Conxita Sesé.
